Get to know us a little bit.
Tallahassee Downtown is pleased to announce the 20th Anniversary of the Downtown Marketplace. For Twenty years, the Marketplace has been attracting area artists, crafters, food vendors, farmers, and musicians to the Chain of Parks in Downtown Tallahassee. The Marketplace season begins the first weekend in March and continues through the end of November each year and attracts 135,000 visitors to Downtown Tallahassee. Come and join in on the tradition every Saturday at 115 E Park Ave, Tallahassee, FL 32303!
The Marketplace opens at 9am sharp each week and a new tradition has been created to announce that commerce has begun. Every Marketplace Saturday begins with the sound of bagpipes in the air. Heralded piper (and Downtown Resident) Sean McGlynn leads the many merchants each Saturday morning in what is known as the MERCAT MARCH. This blast of pipe music rings through the streets of Downtown Tallahassee every Saturday at 9am to signify the opening of the Marketplace. Merchants rejoice in conjunction with the pipes to announce they are open for business.
